How It Works

From application to your first evening.

Three Steps

Simple by design.

1

Apply

Takes 3 minutes. We ask about your interests, your vibe, what you're looking for. No wrong answers.

2

Get Matched

We read every application. As soon as we have something lined up that's your kind of evening, we'll send you the details.

3

Show Up

Your first evening. A small group, something to do together, and the kind of night you'll want to repeat.

How We Build Groups

We don't just throw people together. We think about who'd actually get along.

Every group is intentionally balanced:

What a Series Looks Like

One activity, same group. Here's how a typical series plays out.

Week 1

First session. You learn the basics, figure out the space, get your hands dirty. The instructor does the talking. You just show up and try.

Week 2–3

You're getting into the rhythm. The technique starts clicking. Someone brings wine. The banter picks up between rounds.

Week 4–5

You're actually getting good at this. The evening becomes the thing you look forward to all week. Someone suggests trying a new spot after.

Week 6

Final session. You've made something, learned something, or at the very least had six really good evenings.

After

Try a different activity, switch formats, or keep going. There's always something next.

Before You Ask

What if I don't know anyone?

That's the whole point. Everyone's in the same boat. Events are designed so you meet people naturally. No awkward icebreakers.

Is this a dating thing?

Nope. The Floor is about doing things, not swiping. If a friendship turns into something more, great. But that's not what we're designing for.

What happens after I apply?

We review every application personally. Spots are limited, so as soon as we have something that's your kind of evening, we'll send you the details.

What makes this different from other group events?

Curation. Every group is balanced by age, background, and energy. No random crowds, no 200-person events, no "networking." Just small groups doing things together.

Can I bring a friend?

You can, but you don't need to. That's the point. Most people come alone and leave with new people to text.

What's the vibe?

Think: dinner party energy, not networking event energy. Everyone's there because they want to be, not because they're working the room.

How big are the groups?

Typically 12–16 for series, 10–20 for one-offs, 8–10 for weekends. Small enough to know everyone's name.

What if I miss a week during a series?

Life happens. Missing a session or two is fine. We just ask that you're generally committed to showing up.

What does it cost?

We're finalising pricing. Apply now and you'll be first in line when we do.

Is this just for expats?

No. About half our interest comes from internationals, half from people born here. The only thing everyone has in common is they want more from their evenings.

What if I don't like my group?

Rare, but it happens. Talk to us and we'll find you a better fit next time around.

Where do events happen?

Different venues across Amsterdam. We partner with restaurants, studios, galleries, and outdoor spaces. No fixed clubhouse. The city is the venue.
